We can't imagine a better setting for oysters than Grand Banks, a stunning restaurant on a ship docked in New York.
Located on Pier 25 in Tribeca, Grand Banks is a docked cocktail and oyster bar on the deck of the historic F/V Sherman Zwicker. The 142-foot-long sailboat is not only the largest wooden vessel in New York City, but also the last original schooner that fished the Grand Banks of the North Atlantic. Fitting for its surroundings, the restaurant serves a rotating selection of deliciously fresh and sustainably sourced oysters. For the non-oyster lovers on board, Grand Banks has fried squash blossoms, fluke crudo, red snapper ceviche, and spicy arugula salad. We can't imagine any better way to while away a warm day than pairing these with their nautically inspired cocktails, such as the Engine Room (lager, aquavit, ginger, lemon) or Sherman's Cup (white wine, seasonal berries, lemon, lime, orange), while looking out on lower Manhattan.
